Mohamed Kadry Said, Ph.D., Maj.Gen.(ret.), Military and Technology advisor and head of military studies unit, Al- Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies; member of the committee for strategic planning in the Egyptian Council for Space Research Science and Technology; member of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs, member of the council of the Pugwash Organization for Science and World Affairs, senior member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics since 1986 and member of the American Planetary Society since 1991.
B.Sc. in military science and aerospace engineering from the Military Technical College (MTC), Cairo-Egypt (1970); and Ph.D in aerospace engineering from the Ecole Nationale Superieure de l'Aeronautique et de l'Espace (ENSAE), Toulouse, France (1981). He served in the Egyptian Armed Forces as air defense officer and as staff member in the Military Technical College. Retired in January 1998, he joined Al-Ahram Center in July 1998. He is a frequent writer in Al-Ahram Newspaper, Nahdet Masr Newspaper, Al-Siyassa Al-Dawliya Journal (International Politics), and Weghat Nazar (Points of View) Magazine. Subjects of interest are Military Strategy, Weapons Technology, Arms Control and the Arab-Israeli Conflict issues. He is acting as a member of the Euro-Mediterranean Security and Cooperation (EuroMeSCo) working groups. Member of several Arab-Israeli Track Two activities and currently acting as Al-Ahram Center's coordinator at the Consortium of Research Institutes' Project for Regional Security in the Middle East and North Africa since February 2005. Dr. Kadry lectured on Middle East security at the Center of Security Policy in Geneva, Switzerland; the Center of Defense Studies in Brussels, Belgium and the Institute of National Defense Lisbon, Portugal.
